The sun breaks the silence that shelters the world.
Sleep slips to day and sweet dreams try to stay;
Time won’t wait.
The earth itself sings the secrets it holds,
but only the ones who will listen are told;
They wake.
The deaf and the blind stay behind in their beds,
slaves to their clockwork and struggle ahead.
They don’t stop to question or listen at all
as the sky itself says:
“Follow your heart through the dark of the night,
fight all your shadows in search of the light.”
The few that had heard it fell into the song
and found in themselves what was there all along.
